Dr. Ginkel is a co-founder of National Dizzy & Balance Center. He is the president and director of clinical affairs of NDBC since its incorporation. Dr. Ginkel received his chiropractic license from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1990. He then went on to medical school at Russian State Medical University and graduated in 1996. Dr. Ginkel brings over 15 years of outpatient physical rehab medicine experience to NDBC and has played a major role in the development and implementation of NDBC protocols.
Dr. Ginkel is also president and director of clinical affairs of Physicians' Diagnostics and Rehabilitation (PDR), which he founded in 1994. PDR specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic neck and back pain utilizing a multidisciplinary treatment approach similar to NDBC.
While at PDR, Dr. Ginkel began noticing many patients complaining of dizziness and general balance problems and the idea of a comprehensive center devoted to this patient population was born. After Kenneth Ginkel analyzed the viability of this clinical concept during his graduate program at the University of St. Thomas, National Dizzy & Balance Center was founded in 2004 by Dr. Ginkel as the President and director of clinical affairs, and Kenneth Ginkel as the Chief Executive Officer of business operations.
